We have an extremely exciting opportunity for an experienced legal cashier. This is a permanent full-time position with the opportunity for the right candidate to develop their existing skill set and experience in a dynamic, busy environment.

Legal Cashier Duties:

  • Processing high volume chaps’ payments in line with company procedures
  • Banking client and office accounts
  • Processing invoices received to matter ledgers
  • Processing remittance advices for all supplier payments
  • Preparation of weekly/monthly billing in line with client requirements
  • Ensuring decisions on receipts and payments are in line with the Law Society, the firm, and client’s requirements
  • Liaising with fee earners and suppliers, maintaining a good working relationship inside and outside of the firm
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations
  • Providing timely information to other members of the Accounts team and the wider firm
  • Understanding and adhering to the Law Society of Scotland accounts rules

 

Legal Cashier Requirements:

  • At least 2 years previous legal accounts experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently to deadlines
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
  • Ability to work under pressure

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Supporting managers with case management including providing a professional HR advisory service and support as appropriate in relation to attendance, conduct, capability, grievances etc. ensuring legal compliance and quality assurance
  • Deal with all recruitment, from preparing adverts, supporting interviews and ensuring an efficient onboarding process in line with Company procedures
  • Issuing of Contracts, employment checks and induction
  • Support with changes to terms and conditions, contract alterations, flexible working requests 
  • Ensure the HR system is kept up to date
  • Coordinate and monitor the Company performance management system
  • Identify learning and development needs and liaise with appropriate management to implement training programmes 
  • Ensure all HR paperwork, correspondence and administration is accurate and up to date, working electronically & paperless as much as possible
  • The consistent monitoring, reviewing and continual improvement of HR procedures and systems
  • The creation of statistical reports & benchmarking data as required
  • Supporting with ad-hoc corporate or departmental projects as required

We are seeking a dynamic business administrator to work within our existing Legal Support team, supporting the Conveyancing, Debt Recovery, and Management Teams. 

You will provide a high quality and responsive support service to the multi-disciplinary frontline staff. In addition you will be expected to contribute to the achievement of the organisation’s Service Level Agreements and the Company’s strategic objectives.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • provision of the day-to-day general clerical and administration
  • supporting the mailroom team with incoming and outgoing mail services
  • accurately verifying and entering data into our case management system
  • monitoring central email folders and forwarding emails timeously
  • scanning of incoming mail and entering onto cases
  • process payment list from accounts and prepare debit and credits instructions
  • requesting redemption statements and title deeds
