The Opportunity…

This is an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Private Client Team. You will be reporting to the Director of Private Client based in Glasgow, supporting them and contributing to  multi-disciplinary teams across Scotland.

The role…

  • Assist with preparing Wills and Powers of Attorneys, setting up and administering Trusts, administering Estates and acting as Executor/supporting Executors.
  • You will also work with our financial planning and tax colleagues in order to provide joined-up estate planning and inheritance tax planning advice to clients
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team providing support in a fast-paced, busy environment.
  • Identify and manage risk effectively. This includes (but not restricted to) Anti-Money Laundering, Source of Funds, and Source of Wealth requirements.

 

The requirements…

·         Minimum 3 years’ experience in Private Client work, and experience of dealing with High Net Worth individuals.

·         Excellent inter-personal skills and a confident manner in engaging with clients and team members.

·         Strong organisational skills, with have good technical knowledge and attention to detail.

·         Some experience of using new and emerging technology in the delivery of legal services

We will give preference to candidates holding the Law Society Accredited Paralegal Qualification.

The Opportunity…

We have an extremely exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier based in our Glasgow offices. This is a permanent fulltime position with the opportunity for the right candidate to develop their existing skill set and experience in a dynamic, busy environment.

The role…

  • Processing high volume CHAPS payments in line with company procedures.
  • Banking client and office accounts.
  • Processing invoices received to matter ledgers.
  • Processing remittance advices for all supplier payments.
  • Preparation of weekly/monthly billing in line with client requirements.
  • Ensuring decisions on receipts and payments are in line with the Law Society, the firm, and client’s requirements.
  • Liaising with fee earners and suppliers, maintaining a good working relationship inside and outside of the firm.
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations.
  • Providing timely information to other members of the Accounts team and the wider firm.
  • Understanding and adhering to the Law Society of Scotland accounts rules.

 

The requirements…

  • Previous legal accounts experience minimum of 2 years.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently to deadlines.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
